Nineteen of the Russian's twenty-one championships have been won on hard surfaces

A revitalized Daniil Medvedev claimed his maiden championship for nearly 30 months with victory over Frenchman Moutet in the competition final.

The athlete, a former world number one, has had a difficult period, winning just one win at the Grand Slams and undergoing a setback at the New York tournament.

His inconsistency on the tennis tour - and struggles with his serving in especial - resulted in him falling of the elite rankings and finally parting ways with former mentor his previous coach.

Currently collaborating with Johansson and Rohan Goetzke, the tennis star has consistently improved in the recent weeks - climaxing in a closely contested three-set win over Frenchman Corentin Moutet.

This represents Medvedev's maiden championship following the Rome competition and maiden on a hardcourt after March of that year.

Success also means he has achieved 21 titles at twenty-one different tournaments.

"For the first time I am participating in a event with my two daughters at once, so to get a title is especially meaningful," stated tennis professional Medvedev.

"This championship is in dedication of my second daughter my daughter, because the maiden victory I won when my first daughter Alisa was delivered was for her."

Medvedev, the 2021 US Open champion, had failed in his past six title deciders, comprising in Halle in the past months.

His counter-punching approach and recurring emotional displays on the tennis court had led some to question if his capacity to perform at the top level was concluded.

However the 29-year-old has implemented adjustments in the last few weeks, attempting to come to the net and play assertively, reinforced by an improved serving game.

Medvedev came back from a deficit in the first set against the tricky Moutet, taking four of the concluding five games to go ahead.

The pair swapped breaks in the following set before the Frenchman, attempting for his initial professional victory, seized the initiative to force a third set.

Moutet rescued 4 early chances in a competitive final set before Medvedev won the break to 15 to secure the win.

Fittingly, the winner earned the title with a shot at the net, with his opponent incapable to manage a volley after over two and a half hours.
