Iran is willing to resume nuclear talks with the United States provided that it is handled with "dignity" and "honor", Iran's foreign minister has stated.

The Iranian diplomat said exclusively dialogue produced results, and shared fresh requests had come from go-betweens to restart discussions with the Trump administration. He said Iran had zero secret atomic facilities, and Iran could not yet allow the global atomic watchdog to visit bombed nuclear sites for security reasons.

Walking a Complex Route

Araghchi is navigating a challenging course since Iran wishes not to appear to be operating from a position of vulnerability, and he consistently maintained that Iran had emerged more powerful militarily and psychologically from the joint assault on its atomic facilities in June.

He was talking at a security conference in Tehran where he reiterated that Iran had "an absolute privilege to refine atomic fuel within its borders that it will always maintain" – the key factor of the impasse in the prior discussions.

Previous Negotiations Abruptly Terminated

The prior phases of negotiations between the United States and Iran were ended suddenly and acrimonious conclusion on 12 June when the Israeli government, with American backing, attacked Iran's enrichment centers in a 12-day war that culminated with the American leader declaring the locations had been eliminated. Afterward, EU nations employed their authority to restore global restrictions, but Iran insists they have not had a substantial consequence.

Perfect Agreement Proposed

Iran's diplomats said they felt they had attained a "ideal resolution" to the nuclear fuel concern in previous talks, when it was decided an domestic cooperative with US participation could process nuclear material. Both sides would have been able to assert triumph since home-based processing would have persisted and the US could be confident that Iran's nuclear programme was solely for peaceful purposes.

It had not been settled in the discussions that Washington's technical specialists could operate within Iranian territory, but that was a natural consequence of the partnership suggestion. Officials stated repeatedly they had secured an understanding with Washington's diplomat Steve Witkoff only for the arrangement to disintegrate due to "spoilers in Washington".

Existing Situation

Iran's diplomats declared the partnership proposal was now off the table, but it seems highly likely the offer could be revived in various formats if talks reopen.

The US president recently stated he had been receiving messages that Iran desired to restart talks, but privately Iranian officials say they are not yet obtaining consistent overtures from Washington either explicitly or from important Middle Eastern intermediaries, such as Qatar, Egypt, the Omani authorities and the Saudi kingdom. The Tehran's diplomatic corps has been criticized of passivity in the face of Trump's direct instinctive approach, but Iran asserts dialogue is not part of a performance.

Negotiating Standpoint

In his address to the gathering, designed to depict the US as a hegemonic power that exploits the concept of worldwide standards, the foreign minister stated the 12-day war showed the clash could not be settled by combat operations. He said the strikes started with a US demand for an complete Tehran capitulation and culminated with an absolute demand for a halt to hostilities.

Araghchi stated: "It was not Iran that had abandoned negotiations; it was America and the European states that had always tried to dictate their demands during the discussions. Negotiations can still be viable and remains the ultimate answer to settle disagreements, but its requirements, regulations and fundamentals must be followed."

Restoration and Reconstruction

In what is characterized by Iranian officials as the conflict of recovery and rebuilding, the foreign minister said he was confident Iran's military capacities "have significantly improved than prior to 13 or 14 June of this year. Our entire military infrastructure have been rebuilt. We gained numerous insights from this engagement; we have discovered our internal vulnerabilities and the shortcomings of the enemy."

He stated: "We effectively endured this conflict. Our atomic expertise, which they planned to destroy, continues to exist. The facilities and machinery, if destroyed, will be reconstructed; what is essential is the will of the citizens of Tehran and then the national cohesion that they aimed at, but did not succeed to destroy. The nation of Iran have become more resilient, more integrated, and more endorsing of the leadership and the state in the aftermath of this invasion."
