Uche Ignites Straightforward Palace Victory at Shelbourne.

This match provided a platform for several Palace's fringe talent to impress. Christantus Uche, making only his second start after arriving on loan from Getafe, opened the account with a clinical finish. Striker Eddie Nketiah contributed a another, finding the net for the second game in match.
The Shelbourne side that had concluded their domestic season proved outmatched against a mostly second-string Palace lineup. The visitors were already weakened by the news that Mateta and Muñoz are out with leg problems.

The home side were hanging on desperately. Defender Kameron Ledwidge was fortunate to avoid a booking for two agricultural challenges on Yeremy Pino, before Chris Richards struck the woodwork with a header from a corner.

The contest was as good as over eight minutes before half-time. Yeremy Pino weaved past a series of comically weak challenges before calmly dispatching a shot past goalkeeper Wessel Speel to extend the lead to 3-0.
Following the break, manager Oliver Glasner seized the opportunity to withdraw several players like Kamada and Wharton. Replacement Romain Esse came close to scoring with his first touch, only to see his effort blocked.
Esse was incredibly unlucky later on, seeing one shot crash off both posts before being clasped on the line. Uche then blazed a sitter of a chance, indicating there is still scope for development in his game.
A solitary concern for Palace was a late injury to Justin Devenny, who limped off. This paved the way for 17-year-old striker Benji Casey to make his senior debut, capping an otherwise positive evening for the traveling side.
